Updating the Database

Type: Forum Post
By: adunne on 2.22.12 in People Management

We are trying to update each member's personal information in our database (about 2000 individuals). What is the best way to accomplish this? Do you suggest calling/emailing every person in the database or is there a better method? Is there a webpage that we can send everyone to so that they can change their own data?

Thanks so much.

If you have Infellowship enabled for your church and everyone has an Infellowship/Weblink ID, then you could direct them to the Profile Editor page. They will be able to update their information there.

You can find the Profile Editor Link: F1 Portal - Weblink - Infellowship/Links

If /when you turn on INFELLOWSHIP it also shows secutity option..We have not implemented groups.I think it would create a stir.... Is there a way for us to use the INfellowship feature for everyone to edit profile and not implement Groups 2.0?  I regret my ignorance on this...I just cannot seem to locate any helps/supoort on this topic. Thank you.

Groups can be turned on or off as a feature of infellowship. You do not have to use groups to get the benefit of the profile editor. The menu is weblink > Infellowship > features.

Thank you Jeremy. I have gone there,  and chosen that , howerver the issue is the Privacy option that remains enabled. I think that without Dircetory or Groups, that might alarm people, thinking others in the community or group leaders that they know noting of will see their personal informaitohn. Does this question make sense? Its that piece that I am concerend about. Due to issues with choosing prefereed emails and chaning inFellowship ID that demands that we go this way. Can you help me solve this?
