Need suggestions for types of status
We are a new church plant. We have all kinds of different "status". Can anyone help me with suggestions on what you use for different type of status? Members, Regular attendees, Guests are easy. Then we have a group that receives emails but does not attend our church. They want to keep up with how we are doing and receive our weekly newsletter, we call them "friends". Now I have an entirely new group. People who attend an event but not our church and do not receive the emails. (Women's retreat is an example) We are under 200 right now, but I want to set it up right as we grow. Thanks!

For those who do not attend and we do want to communicate with we created an INACTIVE status / and online commiunity.as the substatus. This allows us to email that group easily. I would suggest haviang the friends catagory under "inactive' status.
And fior those who attend a Sunday night class, as a guest, or come to a one time event, we use EVENT PROSPECT and a subcatagory CLASS./EVENT. Hope that helps.
This looks like a good plan, but I don't see how I can email to a status. I only see attribute groups.
We ran into this problem about a year after beginning with F1. We had created so many statuses and substatuses that it was crazy! We had to go back through and rethink everything. My suggestion would be to keep it as simple as possible. If you have groups that want emails, then you can keep them as "Inactive" but give them an attribute to a certain "subscription." If at some point that person requests not to receive the emails anymore than you can remove the subscription from their attributes.
We also use a status of "Activity Participant Only" for those that do not attend our church but do attend one or more of our events. You could use "Event Prospect" which is a status that is automatically in F1. We chose not to because we felt that for what we were using it for the wording could be confusing to future staff members.
I hope this helps. Feel free to contact me if you'd like me to send out our statuses and explanations. When were were reorganizing our statuses we got a lot of feedback from the F1 community and it helped so much!

Hi aschlosser!
To email a particular status, use the P9400 v2.4 Core Individual Records report and select only the status you want to email under the Additional Filters area. Then, export your results to a Temporary Group. From there you can email all the individuals in the Temporary Group. I hope this helps!
