Automated Group Attendance Reminder E-mail

Type: Forum Post
By: Bocanna on 12.09.11 in -Ideas and Suggestions-

Can the automated Group Attendance Reminder E-mail please be an option as opposed to it being all or nothing when the Attendance box is checked?  This way individual group leaders can designate if they want to receive the reminder e-mail or not.  Thankk you for taking this into consideration!

I couldn't agree more.  We ended up turning off the feature because it became so annoying to most of our Group Leaders.  Therefore, now the new feature isn't even being used by our Groups.

The Post Attendance Email Reminder not only serves as a gentle nudge (reminder) to take their attendance, but it is a direct link to the specific page within inFellowship to take their attendance.  We did this to make it super easy for the Group Leader to take attendance.  I think it also stresses the importance of taking attendance.  There really is no other way for church leadership to see if a person is involved in a small group & ultimately in the church.

We agree that attendance is important but would also like the ability to turn the email reminder off by specific Life Group. Having our span-of-care leaders take attendance instead of some of the Group Leaders is something that we are wanting to explore.

I may have missed this but is reporting available on groups attendance?

Thank you!

Agree. We are slowly moving over to the Groups 2.0 and we have been adding groups, leaders, members, etc. and we are getting calls weekly about the attendance emails. For a small work around we have not selected anyone to take attendance for the groups and will see how this plays out.

We are slowing getting our group/ministry leaders up to speed on FellowshipOne (as well as ourselves) and are getting calls almost daily about the attendance emails.   From reading back on previous comments, there isn't a way to turn off the email being sent?

I agree that there needs to be a way to turn the notifications off.  We also have disabled the attendance feature because there are just too many circumstances where attendance isn't needed or wanted.  It was driving our group leader crazy and generating lots of support calls and frustration.  It's too bad, because we would like attendance for some groups but need more flexibility.

How do you disable the attendance feature of Groups?

I see references here and elsewhere indicating there is a way to turn off group attendance. Is this still the case in groups 2.0? Our groups only meet for a couple of months at a time, so setting them up to take attendance just isn't worth it. However, we still want people to be able to sign up for these groups onine.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Ha, as usual, immediately after posting a question, found the answer.
