Groups 2.0 Attendance

Type: Forum Post
By: Michael Markcity on 11.09.11 in -Ideas and Suggestions-

At the present time, we have no way to monitor or record the number of "guests" who attend a connect group on any given occassion.  Unless they have created an InFellowship account prior to the scheduled meeting, their attendance cannot be recorded.  Any chance that this could be changed in the next update?

Yes Please!!! Attendance 2.0 is much prettier, but without this function, it's really inaccurate for our church. Adding people before they come to the group so we can mark them as attended is just not an option for our groups.

Having accurate attendance is essential. Inaccurate attendance isn't worth the effort to train our group leaders.

Yes! Yes! Yes!  We too have many groups that meet in public places and other patrons often join the small group.  We need a Visitor category to track their attendance and be able to follow-up.

I believe this comment post by Mark Linsdley, Business Analyst for Fellowship One will also be helpful...

DanfsouleRichard Lee, & Jleslie,

We've definitely been hearing the importance of being able to post attendance for individuals that are not on the roster the day of the meeting.  We will be addressing this in a couple of different ways.  First, we'll provide the ability to post attendance for anyone added to the roster on the same day of the meeting.  Second, we'll research the implications of providing the ability to change the member's join date for the group.  The join date is what provides the ability to have the attendance posted for an individual.  I don't have a timeframe for when this will be done, but please know that we understand the importance of it.  Thanks!

Thanks for this! I received an email from one of our Leaders this morning about this exact thing. Here is a copy of that email:

"I have been entering my attendance the past 2 weeks into InFellowship. My only concern is that there is no way to enter attendance by guests, or individuals who have not registered for InFellowship.

We have had 4 new people 'checking us out' the past 2 weeks and would like to add them to our attendance.

Is there anyway to add a 'Guest' attendee? Even if there is no name associated, so we can account for the total number of people present?"

Yes, this is VERY important for our church as well. Our church does not sign up for our small groups in advance, but simply shows up making it impossible to take attendance on them for their first meeing.  A solution for this would be greatly apprieciated as soon as possible.

Same problem. How about an update folks? Please give us the ability to change the join date. The value of attendance and your program is accurate information. If we can't get accurate attendance, what is the point?
