What's New With This Release?

Added Security:
The "Remember me" feature makes logging in easy, but it's also a vulnerability if your device is ever lost or stolen. Now you can lock access to F1Touch with your own four-digit pass code. Once enabled, you will be asked to enter the code every time you start F1Touch. You can set the Pass Code Lock in the "My Profile" section

Maps Enhancements:
Being able to tap a person's address to see where they live is helpful, but what if you also want directions to their home from your current location? Tapping the pin will now open the location in the built-in maps application, where you have access to all native map features.

Add Individual's Photo:
Seeing is knowing. Having a picture to go with the individual details makes it so much easier to identify them. Now you can upload a person's picture into Fellowship One using your iPhone camera. Just tap the picture and edit!

Contacts Export:
Are there key people in Fellowship One that you connect with all the time? Now you can add them to your iPhone address book for quicker reference.

Groups Involvement:
The more you know about someone, the easier it is to relate to them. Now you can easily see the groups a person belongs to or leads.

Was very excited to see this update. Pulled out my phone to test taking a picture of a fellow staff person who did not have a picture in F1. Tapped on the image, took the picture but it did not save. It left the window before being able to click Done.

I submitted a Support ticket few minutes ago for the picture issue and an issue with the Groups. I will keep you posted on developments.

I also had the same problem with a test photo on another employee's phone.  My phone worked fine when taking a photo; however, I have People Edit rights within the portal.  I tested it on someone's phone who does not and it would not work.  Is this the issue?  If so, I was hoping it wouldn't mean they have to have People Edit rights in order to use this function within the app.  All in all, we are super pleased with the updates on the app.  Thanks for increasing the functionality!

Well, we just tried it on another employee's phone (who does not have People Edit rights) and it worked just fine.  Is there another setting that may be causing the issue on certain phones?

Christie Fitzgerald said on 7.19.12

Thanks for the feedback Jessi and Chuck! We have found that you can edit existing photo's but there is an issue with uploading a new photo. Our development team has been made aware of the issue and working on it.

This is great!  Is there planning for an iPad specific app?  Problem with iphone apps on the iPad is that their all stretched.

Justin Rupple said on 7.21.12

Any plan to update the Android app? My phone just got updated to Android 4.0 and the F1 app isn't compatible with it. So, I no longer have the ability to use the app.  Please update us on the plan for the Android app.  Thanks!

Sometimes the pin does not pop up for us on the map enhancement even if we double tap.  Is there anyone else having this trouble?

Leah Owen said on 8.06.12

It seems when we try and upload the photo, it only allows you the option of taking a picture not uploading a preexisting picture from your Photo Albums.  Are there any plans for allowing us to upload pictures from our Photo Albums in the future?

Thanks!

Justin,
I am using the F1 Android app on a Samsung Galaxy S2 that is running Android 4.0.4 and I don't have any issues with it. Are you using an official Android ROM?

Leah Owen said on 8.07.12

Our iphone users are unable to upload pictures as well. As Chris Kear asked, what is the ETA for the fix? Thank you!

Justin Rupple said on 8.08.12

The Fellowship One for Android won't authenticate on my HTC Sensation running Android 4.0.3 (the official ROM installed by T-Mobile). In the authentication process, it says that "This church code has not been configured to use Fellowship One for Android."  This application has been given access to our F1 church code via the Admin panel, plus it works perfectly on my previous Android 2.3. Occationally after numerous tries, it will get passed this point and actually go the browser to sign-in, but once I sign in and click "Allow", nothing happens. When I go back to the app, it still says that I haven't signed in.

Nate,
Was your F1 app already logged in when you upgraded to 4.0.4? If so, then it probably has no issue. I'm seeing that it is only the authentication process that won't work with Android ICS.

Hi All,

All photo issues inside F1 Touch have been resolved. You should be good to go.

Works great, thank you Will!

Any update on features that you are looking to add in the near future. It would be awesome if our group leaders could take attendance and manage their group with their smartphone.

Christie Fitzgerald said on 9.04.12

Eric > Great feedback on the group attendance feature for mobile. It has been passed on to our developers for consideration. When F1Touch comes back around for development, we will update our RoadMap:Moving Forwad blog to let users know what features will be added at that time.

Justin Rupple said on 9.04.12

Christie - You mentioned a couple months ago that there were no official plans to update the F1 Android app, but has that changed at all?  It appears that since Fellowship One took it over from the independent software company, the development has stopped (no updates in over 2 years).  It would be great to get an update that brings it up to par with the F1 Touch app.  There are still millions of users on Android that have not embraced the iPhone. Recent research showed that over 50% of active smart phones are on Android and under 32% are on iPhones. By not working on the Android version, it is alienating the majority of smart phone users.

I appreciate any updated information you can give us.

Thank you so much for all you do!
-Justin

The new F1 Touch app is better than the previous edition and I have not had the crashing issues others have had but I think I speak for all mobile app users in that we need more functionality on the mobile platforms. I know that Fellowship one has roadmaps for updates but the mobile should always be on the fast track roadmap. Examples of features that need to be available asap: 1) iOS & Android check-in for children's church, events, youth, etc. The days of the clunky & costly check-in stations need to end. 2) Profile edit and update from the mobile app. 3) Groups 2.0 & Social Media event integration. These are just a few of the core features that users would like to see updated by the end of the year. When you talk about ACTIVE FAITH that infers movement thus mobile apps should be automatic and "just work" as apple would say.

Paul Joswig said on 11.15.12

Justin, as an Android user I was disappointed to see the focus on the iOs app and not on Android. I read posts by people saying that the Android app didn't work on Android 4.x. So I didn't even try it out on my device... until the other day I thought, why not give it a go.

Well, when I went to the Google Play Store, I was surprise to find that the app was listed as version 1.13, updated on 25 September 2012, and... it works fine on my 4.04 device.

It would be good to see the whole area tidied up a bit though - last time I looked it appeared that FT had bought out the maker of the Android app, but hadn't done anything much around the provision/help/support etc.

I second Scott Elliotts comments - the sooner the better for iOs and Android phones and tabs to be supported nicely!
